Cyan Tech Return & Warranty Policy
15-Day Change-of-Mind Returns
You have 15 days from delivery or pickup to return your device for a full refund.
The device must be returned in the same condition it was supplied, with all included accessories.
A receipt or order number is required.
Warranty for New Devices
Brand-new devices purchased from Cyan Tech include the manufacturer's warranty.
Coverage length varies by brand and model.
If an issue occurs:
Cyan Tech will assist in identifying the fault
We can help you lodge a warranty claim with the manufacturer
Devices may be repaired or replaced according to the manufacturer’s terms
New device warranties do not cover physical damage, liquid damage, or misuse.
8-Month Hardware Warranty (Refurbished Devices)
All refurbished devices include an 8-month limited hardware warranty.
This covers faults caused by internal hardware failure.
If covered, you are eligible for:
Free repair
Replacement with an identical or equivalent device
Refund if repair or replacement is not possible
All warranty claims must be inspected and approved by Cyan Tech.
100-Day Repair Warranty (Parts & Repairs)
All paid repairs, including screens, batteries, and other components, are covered by a 100-day limited warranty.
This warranty covers:
Faulty or defective replacement parts
Issues directly caused by the repair work performed
This warranty does not cover:
New accidental damage after the repair
Drops, cracks, or liquid damage
Third-party repair attempts
Normal battery wear
Software-related issues caused by user action
If the issue is part-related or workmanship-related, we will fix it.
If the device has new physical damage, it is not covered.
Shipping & Returns
For mail-in returns or warranty claims:
The customer pays shipping upfront
If the claim is approved, Cyan Tech reimburses return shipping (with receipt)
Local customers can book drop-off and pickup for faster turnaround.
What’s Not Covered
The following are excluded from warranty:
Physical damage (cracks, dents, scratches, bends)
Liquid damage
Devices opened or altered by third parties
Missing, modified, or swapped internal components
Normal battery wear due to usage
Software problems caused by apps, updates, or modifications
Non-returnable items:
Used screen protectors and cases
PC cases with cracked glass (unless defective on arrival)
Fishing gear, gemstones, and merchandise
D-Grade devices (sold as-is, no warranty)

D Grade devices are fully functional but show heavy cosmetic wear.
They work great — they just look rough around the edges (and sometimes the front).Typical cosmetic issues may include:

Always back up your data before any repairs or resets — we’re not responsible for files lost during servicing.
🔧 Unsuccessful Repairs
If we’re unable to successfully repair your device, we’ll offer one of the following options — depending on the situation:
🧩 Customer-Owned Devices (Repairs Only)
If you brought your own device in for repair and we couldn’t fix it:
No Fix, No Fee — You won’t be charged if no repair was completed (except in rare cases where a diagnostic or parts fee was agreed upon upfront).
If partial work was completed (e.g., screen replaced but issue remains), we’ll discuss options — refund, retry, or return to original state if possible.
Important:
We are not liable for pre-existing faults or additional issues discovered during repair.
Data loss can occur during repairs — always back up your device beforehand.
🛍️ Devices Sold by Cyan Tech
If you bought a device from us and it fails during the warranty period, but cannot be repaired:
You’ll be offered a replacement with an equivalent or better device
Or receive a full refund — your choice
We want to make it right, not just "technically correct."
🔧 Custom Computer Refund & Return Policy (Effective 7 August 2025)
At Cyan Tech, we pride ourselves on building high-quality, custom-built computers tailored to your needs. Due to the nature of these builds, we have a specific policy for returns and refunds:
🖥️ Custom Computers Over $500 AUD
No full refunds can be offered for custom computers valued over $500 AUD, due to the nature of the parts and supplier terms.
We do not accept full system returns once the build has been completed and collected.
✅ What we can offer instead:
Part replacements for any faulty or underperforming components, covered under their respective warranties.
Partial refunds or credit may be offered only in exceptional circumstances, at our discretion, and based on the condition and resale potential of the build.
⏳ Return Period
You have 7 days from the date of pickup or delivery to report any issues with your system.
Outside this window, the build is considered final, and only warranty support applies.
⚠️ Important
This policy applies to custom computers only, not refurbished or off-the-shelf devices.
By proceeding with a custom build, you acknowledge and accept these terms
